[Outdated] Config Suggestions for Beginners
« on: April 09, 2017, 02:21:59 AM »
1000trades and SuperGun require two different config settings because they are two different trading strategies.  Below you will find a couple set of configs that were posted in the telegram channel.  Use at your own risk.  I am not responsible for any loss or issues you may incur while using these config settings.

1000trades
Buy level 1 - 1
Buy level 2 - 1
Buy level 3 - 1

Sell level 1 - 1
Sell level 2 - 1
Sell level 3 - 1

Buy level - 1
Sell level - 1

ema 1 - 2
ema 2 - 4

SuperGun - 1
Buy level 1 - 0.1
Buy level 2 - 0.1
Buy level 3 - 0.1

Sell level 1 - 2
Sell level 2 - 2
Sell level 3 - 2

Buy level - 1
Sell level - 1

ema 1 - 0.02
ema 2 - 0.04

SuperGun - 2
Buy level 1 - 0.6
Buy level 2 - 1
Buy level 3 - 1.5

Sell level 1 - 2
Sell level 2 - 3
Sell level 3 - 5

Buy level - 3
Sell level - 3

ema 1 - 0.02
ema 2 - 0.04

SuperGun - 3
Buy level 1 - 0.6
Buy level 2 - 0.6
Buy level 3 - 10

Sell level 1 - 2
Sell level 2 - 2
Sell level 3 - 70

Buy level - 3
Sell level - 3

ema 1 - 0.02
ema 2 - 0.04

Gunthar's "Kickass" Supergun
Buy level 1 - 0.1
Buy level 2 - 0.1
Buy level 3 - 10

Sell level 1 - 2
Sell level 2 - 2
Sell level 3 - 70

Buy level - 3
Sell level - 3

ema 1 - 0.02
ema 2 - 0.04

1000trades uses a ping pong strategy that trades based on the EMAs.  I've seen suggestions of using an ema 2 setting as 2 or 4.  4 is recommended by Gunthar. The buy level does not matter with these settings.  All three levels are the same.

Supergun - 1 uses the Supergun strategy without a "step gain".  Essentially like the 1000trades configs.  The buy level does not matter with these settings.  All three levels are the same.

Supergun - 2 uses the Supergun strategy with a small "step gain".  Level 3 is recommended here because the bot will use both the level 2 and level 3 settings.

Supergun - 3 uses the Supergun strategy with a "step gain" setting designed to ride a big pump.  Level 3 is recommended here because the bot will use both the level 2 and level 3 settings.

If you are running a large number of pairs, 6 or more, you need to adjust the "Time delay price" to avoid throwing errors.  Default is 20.  Consider changing this to 25 or 30.  When I run 6 pairs or more, I start the first bot at 20 seconds and then add 1 second to each new bot.  So far I've had no issues.

Q&A

Why are there different buy/sell levels when you've got to chose one?
The bot picks the level you defined in the configs plus the level below.  So if you pick 1, it will only trade with the one level.  If you pick level 2, it uses both level 1 and 2.  If you pick level 3, it uses both level 2 and 3.

What's the differences between the 1000trades and Supergun strategies?
 - Supergun attempts to buy at the bottom of the dump and sells on top of a pump.  Keep in mind that markets are very unpredictable.
 - 1000trades is a ping pong strategy that buys below EMA and sells above EMA depending on your configs.

How do I start 1000trades?
In windows, to start 1000trades, click the "play arrow" in the BTC/XXX tab.
In 'nix, to start 1000trades, ask a linux guy. :D

How do I start Supergun?
In windows, to start Supergun, click the "blue icon" in the BTC/XXX tab.
In 'nix, to start Supergun, ask a linux guy.  :D

Can the settings be changed while the bot is running?
Yes!  It is called  "hot configs".

How does the "hot configs" work?
Simply load the settings for the bot that is running.  Make your changes and then save them.  The saved changes take effect immediately.  As of right now the green settings inside the console will not refresh but Gunthar is working on that..

Why use the EMA settings shown above?
Using Supergun settings .02/.04 as an example:
 0.02 = 2 hour = 8 on polo with 15 minutes candles
 0.04 = 4 hour = 16 on polo with 15 minutes candles

Using 1000trades settings of 2/4 as an example:
2 = 2 hour = 8 on polo with 15 minutes candles
4 = 4 hour = 16 on polo with 15 minutes candles

I will make adjustments to these as I find better options.  Please send me your configs if you have something that works better.

Q&A

Why are there different buy/sell levels when you've got to chose one?
The bot picks the level you defined in the configs plus the levels below.  So if you pick 1, it will only trade with the one level.  If you pick 3, it will try to trade based on all three levels.

are you sure about that? I though if you pick 3 the bot sells/buys somewhere in between level 2 and 3.

I had come across these messages in telegram.

Why are there different levels when then you've got to chose one?

Gunthar De Niro, [09.04.17 03:10]
[In reply to Krotchy 666]
it picks the one you chosen plus the below one

I guess it is only 2 of the 3.  If you pick level 2, it uses both level 1 and 2.  If you pick level 3, it uses both level 2 and 3.  I will make that change above until I know otherwise.

yeah, you are correct.
If you pick level 2, it uses level between 2 and 1.  If you pick level 3, it uses level between 3 and 2.

@Kuriso: missing the information about what buy/sell level to set

I go with this settings for supergun and it seems to work fine:

I copied this exact, and applied it to the XRP.  I ran 1000 Trades, SuperGun isnt working for me - It's run for about 12hrs, it's trading fine.  The Market looks fine, it's not dumped, it's up and down.  I'm showing a loss right now when I run an analyze.  I'm not sure how that is possible?  If all my sell orders were at the higher sell price.  Here's my thoughts, on what is going on.
1) I don't know what's going, missing fundamental of what the Bot is doing.
2) Does Polo analyze tool not take into account active sell orders.  So I could have XRP that is not calculated in the trade analysis.

By the looks of your attached image, you have not sold all of your XRP.  There are still 35 +/- of them to be sold.  that should cover your negative balance.  Something does look off though because the AVG buy price and AVG sell price is only 1sat apart.  It should be more than that.  Maybe you should post your configs.  Post a picture of the config settings and a picture of the running console.

OK - that makes sense
alight if I factor the price of what I have left, that is showing about a .005% gain in 12hrs.  Not sure what I was expecting, but that is on schedule to make 1% in 24hrs.

Post your config settings because it should still be making a sell larger than 1 sat difference.

What's the differences between the strategies?

Not sure how 1000trades, supergun with or without step gain work internally.

Thanks for the suggestions!

supergun buys at the bottom of the dump and sells on top of a pump (or attempts to)

1000trades is a ping pong ablve and below ema

would be cool to add the recommended "time delay price"-settings regarding the amount of pairs running to avoid 422 errors

I do not understand why 0.1 as the minimum level is 0.6 because of polo fees.
