Gunbot 3.3.2 -> Windows vs Linux
« on: July 13, 2017, 03:34:58 PM »
Hi,
I have GB license and would like use VPS, but I could not decide for OS.

Linux VPS is cheaper than Windows but Linux version of GB has no GUI right? So, switcing parameters of GB on windows is easier?

Any comment?

I personally find Windows easier, but Linux servers are indeed cheaper and use less resources than Windows. If cost is a factor in your decision, definetly go for Linux.

Also, since most add-ons now need to be re-factored to 3.3.4, operations  in Linux got back to manual mode at least for a while. In this sense, and also considering the new version consume considerably less resources, Windows has the advantage for now.

Another point is that you can access Linux resources while in a Windows environment through the use of tools like Cygwin, so you can take advantage of both systems :)
